Thanksgiving has always been my favorite holiday. The only gift that’s required – is the giving of thanks. We can never have to many opportunities to reflect on how much we have to be thankful for. In a world where environmental destruction, violence, inequality, and fear make daily and now, minute-by-minute headlines, it’s easy to forget how blessed we are to be able to do the work we do.
Yes, the world is in pretty tough shape, but how lucky are we to be able to be so fully engaged in trying to mitigate those problems and make the world a better place.
While much of humanity lives with oppressive hunger, tremendous economic insecurity, and the constant threat of violence, we – each and everyone one of us – live incredibly privileged lives. We have chose to leverage that privilege, and to devote our talents and resources to improve the lives of others.
Each and every one of you has played an important role in helping to bring our new business into being. Over the past year we have created the healthiest, most sustainable and responsible condoms on the planet and reached over 40 million people encouraging them to join with us to help create a world where all women discuss sex and reproductive healthcare openly and honestly and have access to the products they need to take control of their sexual well-being. A place where we are all inspired to leave the planet better off than how we found it.
Sustain is about creating business as a force for equity, justice, new possibilities, and creating a platform for challenging the status quo by disrupting industry, creating a net-positive business model, and the willingness to state the unsaid.
